(WHAS11) - Some of the dogs seized from a New Albany, Indiana woman more than two weeks ago found new homes Friday.
Katherine Fraze's dogs were taken from her home when a couple says they were bit while on her property.
The dogs were recently signed over to the New Albany County Animal Shelter.
Friday the shelter held an Adopt-a-Thon for Fraze's dogs.
By 1:00 p.m. five dogs had been adopted.
“I brought enough cash to adopt three dogs and I was told you have to own your home, so I brought the deed to our house,” says Carol Miracle, who adopted two dogs.
Fifteen of Fraze's dogs had to be put down because of health problems, which means 23 are left.
If you’re interested, the adoption fee is $70.
You’re asked to go to the New Albany Floyd Animal Shelter and fill out a application.
All adoptable dogs and cats can be seen on their website at www.nafcanimalshelter.org
