(WHAS11) - There is now heartbreak for a family that was hoping for a miracle.

A deputy coroner says a 4-month-old baby is dead after being on life support at Kosair Children's Hospital.

It’s a sad ending to an abuse case out of Bullitt County and baby Aiden wasn't the only victim.

His twin brother Braiden is now out of the hospital.

Police say he too was abused but they don't know when or by whom.

But detectives say they know who harmed Aiden and now that 18-year-old suspect is facing a murder charge.

The Bullitt County Sheriff's Department has now filed a murder charge against 18-year-old Samuel Harris.

Police say he dates the mother of the 4-month-old twins.

But now one twin will grow up without his brother.

Harris is accused of throwing Aiden across the room onto a broken sofa.

Aiden had been in Kosair Children's Hospital on life support.  A deputy coroner says baby Aiden died Thursday afternoon.

“My family feels so guilty.  It wasn't that I thought he would hurt them, it was a bad situation all the way around,” says a family member of Samuel Harris who didn’t want to be identified.

That family member tells WHAS11 News that the twins and their mother were only living with Harris since December.

They say the infants often stayed at different homes.

Police say that based on the twins injuries, they were the victims of serial abuse.
