LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville restaurant group that's serving up Kentucky Proud foods is the focus of this week’s Project Green.
The Bristol Bar and Grill has five local restaurants and each one serves food grown in Kentucky and Indiana. They even feature a special Kentucky Proud menu and daily special.
"We realize the importance of working with local farmers. We know local sustainable farming supports the local community and local economy while supporting the local environment by enriching the soil, protecting the air and water quality and, most of all, minimizing energy consumption," TJ Oakley, general manager of the Bristol in downtown, said.
Oakley said the Bristol gets its beef from local cattle growers, and most of the year, 80 to 85 percent of the produce is grown locally.
