Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Spring's almost here and gardeners are already thinking about what they'll be doing once the weather gets better.
Now you can use your green thumb skills to help beautify the Louisville Zoo.
It’s all part of a new volunteer program that starts this spring called Adopt a Garden.
Through this program you, your family or your group can volunteer to adopt garden sites throughout the Louisville Zoo and keep them up all year long.
Gardeners must be at least 18-years-old. However, they will make exceptions for Beta Clubs and Honor Societies.
You don't have to be a master gardener; you just have to love flowers.
It is a commitment though; you'll be responsible for your garden at the zoo from April through November.
A required orientation session will be held this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Zoo's Vision Building.
