Heather shares her weight loss tips below:
*I try to drink AT LEAST 8 cups of water per day. The ideal amount would be a person's body weight divided by 2 (drink that many ounces). For example, a person weighing 150 pounds would shoot for drinking 75 ounces of water.
*Track what you eat! Keeping a food journal is a great way to keep accountable for what goes into your mouth. If you have a week where you didn't lose weight, or you gained, compare what you ate to a week where you had great results. What did you do different?
*Be consistent! Long-term results come from long-term effort and staying commited to your goals. Don't let a bad food day become a bad food week. The very next meal is a great time to start over and tomorrow is ALWAYS a new day. Blank slate!
*Don't wait for "Magic Monday" to change your direction. "I'll start my diet on Monday/I'll start working out on Monday". That is the most elusive Monday ever... start now! Make your next food choice a good one!
*Forgive yourself! We're not perfect creatures. Slip-ups happen! So you ate an entire package of Oreos. I don't blame you, those are amazing. Don't punish yourself for that by giving up on striving for your goals. Again, tomorrow is a new day!
*Talk to yourself like you would a friend. Lift yourself up with positivity. Don't condemn yourself every time you look in the mirror with things like "You're so fat/You're disgusting/No wonder you're single" etc. I've been there, and it yields nothing good. If you wouldn't say it to a dear friend, don't say it to yourself.
