HOUSTON - (KHOU) -- Once upon a time, a Houston girl dreamed of a wedding fit for a Disney princess and now her dream has come true. In a modern twist, Ashley’s storybook wedding has gone viral thanks to her passion for all things Disney.
Ty proposed to Ashley at Disneyland near a peaceful spot next to the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
“It was the most magical day of my life,” Ashley told the Huffington Post.
The young couple immediately began planning their Disney-inspired wedding.
“By having a Disney-themed wedding, Ty and I were hoping to recreate some of the magic from that day and share it with our families and friends,” she told the Huffington Post.
Their engagement photos incorporated details from the movies “Up,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Snow White,” “Alice in Wonderland,” and “Tangled.”
The wedding ceremony took place at The Grove in a simple woodland setting complete with butterflies.
Each table at the reception had a different Disney theme and Ashley made many of the decorations herself.
The groom’s sister created their wedding cake, which was topped with mini replicas of Carl and Ellie’s chairs from “Up.”
Of course, the couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World.
Their story has been featured around the world and as far away as Australia, Singapore and South Korean.
