The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: Friday, December 28th former University of Louisville and University of Kentucky star hit the "Hardwood" to rekindle the rivalry all for a great cause. It's the 3rd Annual Hardwood Classic benefiting the Crusade for Children.
Several hundred people attended the game at Basketball Academy even though the snow was coming down. Here's the "Cardinal" all-star squad: Terrance Farley, Alvin Sims, Kent Spencer, Robbie Valentine, Luke Whitehead, BJ Flynn, Keisha Nicole, and Ibn Green. Coaches for the team: Henry Bacon, Ellis Myles and Derwin Webb. The "Wildcat" all-star squad consists of Derek Anderson, Dwight Anderson, Duane Lightfoot Jr., Ben Pine, Jared Prickett, Kita Williams, Jason Dunn and Chris Burke. Wildcat coach was Jack "Goose" Givens.
The game was close throughout but the Wildcat team won over the Cardinal team with the score 90 to 88. Derek Anderson had 41 points and Dwight "The Blur" Anderson had 28 points.
Throughout the game, DJ Kaos, Rap legend Slick Rick's official dj played to keep the pace fast and action packed. The announcer for the evening was Tony Wolfe. The National Anthem was sung by Miss Jordan Phillips, 2013 Miss Belle of Louisville. She continues to promote her platform "Character Counts", Jordan will compete in June for the title of Miss Kentucky 2013 and an opportunity to compete in the Miss America Pageant. Patrick Hughes was the half-time entertainment.
