JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Mayor Mike Moore presented his annual State of the City Address before the Jeffersonville Rotary on Tuesday afternoon.
Moore announced several projects, including preparations for the effects of a new East End Bridge.
"We must upgrade 10th street. The repaving, the regrading, creating wider lanes and a turning lane is essential to accommodate the increased traffic not only to River Ridge but all of the other businesses along the way," Moore said.
He talked about more companies moving to town and more companies expanding, which is good news for the local job market.
There are plans to spur growth on Veteran's Parkway, as well as build a new marina on the Ohio River.
Moore also said the first city park will be built at the corner of Allison Lane and Middle Road and will include a seven acre lake, walking paths and a community garden.
He also said a 20 mile paved bike path that circles the city is in the planning stages.
