3-7-13 Update:  I have been following updates from the family of Gregg Lohman.  They say he's hoping to be able to play again in six months. They are also asking for fans to continue to pray for Gregg in his recovery.  The blog says "Gregg continually wants to communicate and is willing to take as long as needed to let us know what is on his mind. The "dip" comes because his mind, for now, is ahead of his body.  We are so glad that he has the patience, ability, and desire to communicate...we just wish that his physical self would catch up a little more.
Our prayer request for today is for rest, emotional peace, and physically healing."

Gregg was also seen in the latest episode of the ABC show Nashville which was taped several months ago. His family seemed surpised to see him so much during that episode which aired last night.  To watch Nashville go to ABC.go.com.  Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. (EST).

UPDATED 3:30PM Kentucky State Police releases an official news release:  Approximately 16 minutes after a multi-fatality crash on the northbound side of I-65 in Hardin County yesterday, another crash occurred on the southbound side sending one man to University of Louisville Hospital with critical injuries.  Gregory Lohman, 36, from Goodlettsville, TN was southbound on I-65 and was slowing for the wreck on the northbound side when a 2013 Freightliner failed to see slowed traffic and struck the Lohman vehicle in the rear.  It was operated by 58-year-old Mark Bowser from Lewisburg, OH.  Lohman’s vehicle then struck a 2005 Saturn SUV driven by 53-year-old Victor Martinka of Glenview, IL, in the rear.  The Martinka vehicle then struck a 2012 Chevrolet SUV in the rear.  It was driven by Stephanie Yates, 55, of Louisville, KY.  All vehicles involved were southbound on I-65.  Lohman suffered critical injuries in the crash and was airlifted to U of L Hospital with head and neck injuries.  As of this morning he was listed in critical but stable condition.  Both occupants in the Saturn, Victor and Lilija Martinka, 51, were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.  Bowser nor Yates were injured in the crash.  *Please note-I called University Hospital and they have Lohman in serious condition at this time.

UPDATED 3:10PM:  Kellie Pickler just posted this message on her facebook page:  " Yesterday, my drummer Gregg Lohman was in a horrific car accident and is currently in ICU. Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family. I believe in miracles and the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band, and Gregg's family if you would please keep him in your prayers. Thank y'all so much. -Pickler"

UPDATE: 2:10PM  We have been in touch with country music star Kellie Pickler 's publicist and they can confirm that Gregg Lohman is a member of their band.  Unfortunately they do not have any details at this time.  The publicist says they will try and update us when information becomes available.  Quote from publicist  "Oh I'm so sorry say to say this, but I can confirm it is a member of our band.  Unfortunately we do not have additional details at this time.  I'll update you when we do."

Breaking Entertainment News:  The411withSherleneShanklin:  I have been working on this story all morning long and now I can confirm that the drummer for country music star Kellie Pickler was involved in a serious accident in Kentucky.

The crash happened Saturday morning around 11:30 a.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 65 approximately three miles south of Glendale, KY.   Drummer Gregg Lohman was involved in a four vehicle crash injuring three people.   I spoke with University of Louisville Hospital spokesman David McArthur and he confirms that they have a Gregg Lohman in their hospital and he's in serious condition.  They could not confirm anything else with me at this time.  We have been working with our sister station in Nashville and they have received confirmation from a close friend of Lohman that he was involved in the crash.

Lohman's accident is not the only accident that happened in that area on Saturday.  Police say six members from Wisconsin family were killed and two injured when their SUV was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.  According to police, the first accident happened shortly after 11 A.M. Saturday morning in the northbound lanes of I-65 at the 83 mile marker.  Police say the Wisconsin family in the SUV was from Marion, Wisconsin. They are identified as 62-year-old James Gollnow and his wife Barbara, 92-year-old Marion Champnise, 18-year-old Sarina Gollnow, 8-year-old Soledad Smith and 10-year-old Gabriel Zumiga.  According to police, Soledad and Gabriel were foster children.  The two survivors were also foster children. Police identified them as Hope Hoth, 15, and Aidian Ejnik, 12.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Norman Chaffins says despite snow flurries, weather was not a factor in either crash.  The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and was cooperating with police, Chaffins said. He was not identified.     "He's obviously pretty torn up about everything," he said.

The southbound crash involved a tractor-trailer and three other vehicles and Chaffins said police were investigating whether rubbernecking was the cause.
