The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: The 39th Dr. Joseph H. McMillan National Conference on the Black Family in America adds another national speaker to their conference. Maxine Waters, U.S. Representative for California's 35th congressional district will be at the conference on Friday, March 9th. The Community Forum Reception: A Conversation with Maxine Waters will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn on Crittenden Drive at 7:00 p.m.
The event is free to all conference registrants and for those who do not attend the conference but would like to attend this event the cost is $50.
Last week, the conference announced Michael Eric Dyson. He will address the conference on Saturday, March 10th.
This year's theme is "Strengthening and Empowering the Black Family for the Future." The conference is from March 9th-11th.
