Merle Haggard would have been 80 years old today, but after fighting poor health for some time, he died a year ago on his 79th birthday. Louisville will pay tribute to the legend with an all-star concert featuring several Kentuckiana musicians performing his music in a free show. One of the show’s organizers, CJ Cumberland, joins GDL along with musician Colton Kise, who lends his voice to one of Merle’s songs. Louisville's Merle Haggard Tribute is Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM with music from more than 20 area performers like Mickey Clark, Mike Owens and Moondawg Hall, and a house band including Johnny Berry and Steve Cooley. The concert is at Gypsy's Sports Grill on Fegenbush Lane in Louisville, Kenucky. 10% of anything you order will go to the Louisville Leopards Percussionists.
