LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A new study is a myth-buster, finding the stereotype of the so-called trophy wife is false.

The belief is that when it comes to mates, rich men care about looks more than education or success, while attractive women care more about money than anything else like physical appearance.

The study says trophy wife partnerships do exist. They pointed out Donald Trump and Melania Trump, but they said they are rare.

The new study also revealed that handsome men partner with pretty women and successful men partner with successful women.

The study was done at the University of Notre Dame.
