The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: Actor/Director Alvin Moore Jr., the creator of the stage play "The Perfect Gift" with Ruben Studdard and Golden Brooks and "A Mother's Prayer" starring Robin Givens, Johnny Gill and Shirley Murdock will be in Louisville Saturday, October 20th for an open casting call at Burnett Avenue Baptist Church. The audition is for "A Mother's Prayer". Actors and vocalist will have an opportunity to audition for the Louisville show.
Moore has created this unique concept, he will do the audition in Louisville, chose members of the cast and instead of the cast having to take off their jobs and try to find a place to stay out of town, Moore will come back to Louisville to do the rehearsals. Once the cast learns their parts, Moore will actually do the show in Louisville so the actors will have their fan base, family and friends to support them.
This is an unique opportunity for Moore to discover new talent. He is currently working on another BET stage play that will be shown on their network in 2013. He also has multiple opportunities in the entertainment business. You never know, someone from Louisville may join his team.
If you would like to audition it's Saturday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Burnett Avenue Baptist Church located at 511 East Burnett Avenue.
Please bring a head shot and resume with you. You need to have one or two memorized monologues and if you would like to be considered for a character that sings you need to be able to sing at least one song acappella.
