(WHAS11) -- A man is behind bars after police say he broke into the home of the late Steve Jobs taking more than $60,000 worth of belongings.

35-year old Kariem McFarlin has been arrested and remains behind bars until a hearing in late August.

Police say he broke into the Palo Alto, California home in July.  Officials believe the suspect was unaware the home belonged to the late Steve Jobs.

The co-founder of Apple died last year at the age of 56.
