LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — A Louisville florist is taking roses to the next level and wants more than the horses to wear the special flower.

Susan’s Florist owner Amy Schoenhoff Streeter, whose shop is on Preston Highway, is putting the final touches on her living rose dress that cost up to $5,000, and is made of 500 roses.

This is the first year Streeter has made the dress, which will be worn by Louisville model Sharon Voss at the Unbridled Eve Gala Friday night.

She said every rose is hand sewn to the dress, using the red freedom roses, the same used in the Garland of Roses.

Streeter said the dress will hold up through the night and there will not be any wilting problems.

She will unveil the dress exclusively on Great Day Live Thursday.
