MASON, Ohio – For the 13th consecutive year, Kings Island amusement park received recognition for the “Best Kids’ Area in the World” at Amusement Today’s annual Golden Ticket Awards held Saturday night in Santa Cruz, California.
The Planet Snoopy kids’ area at Kings Island features an elaborate collection of PEANUTS-themed rides and attractions for every age including four roller coasters, a live stage show, and meet-and-greet opportunities with PEANUTS characters.
The Beast ranked as the eighth-best wooden roller coaster. The ride opened in 1979 and still stands as the longest wooden roller coaster in the world at 7,359 feet.
The Golden Ticket Awards are the amusement industry’s equivalent of the Oscars, with amusement park owners and managers, ride manufacturers, and other industry officials gathering to salute the industry’s top parks. Winners were selected by amusement park enthusiasts, voting from around the world.
