LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The youngest winner of "American Idol" will sing the national anthem for the 137th Kentucky Derby next weekend.
Jordin Sparks was 17 when she won "Idol" four seasons ago. She has released two albums since then, selling more than 1.6 million copies.
Churchill Downs announced Thursday that Sparks had been selected to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the Derby on May 7. The performance will be carried live on NBC Sports' coverage of the Derby.
