CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (WHAS11) – January 8, 2013 would have marked Elvis Presley’s 78th birthday. In honor of this special day, there is clothing made fit for a king.
A local business in Kentuckiana caters to the "King" by creating one-of-a-kind jumpsuits made famous by Presley.
B & K enterprises in Charlestown, Indiana make re-creations of the jumpsuits where tribute artists like Don Goodfleish come to shop.
Butch and Kim Polston started B & K enterprises in 1980. They are self-proclaimed Elvis lovers who sold four jumpsuits on a fluke at a fan week in Memphis. Their son helps make the ornate costumes with original artwork from Elvis’ inner circle.
Actor Bill Murray has worn the jumpsuits for a magazine cover and country singer Troy Gentry wanted a hint of Elvis in his jacket.
Tribute artists from around the globe make B & K their destination for Elvis clothing.
There is something about Elvis and that iconic sense of style – It continues to “Shake, Rattle, and Roll” its way into popular culture no matter the generation.
