(ABC News)-- Actor Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury on the set of "Star Wars" on Thursday-- serious enough that he was sent to the hospital.
"Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of 'Star Wars: Episode VII,'" a statement from Disney reads. "He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care."
It statement adds, "Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."
The Hollywood Reporter said that Ford was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, his character's ship from the original movies.
Ford and others from the original series like Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill were announced to be coming back for "Episode VII" back in April.
"We are so excited to finally share the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII,'" director J.J. Abrams said. "It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
