(USA TODAY) -- The Rolling Stones have canceled the Wednesday night launch of their Australian tour in the wake of the death of frontman Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend, L'Wren Scott.
The fashion designer, 49, was found dead in her New York apartment Monday morning.
"The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014," the group's site says in a note. "No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available."
Jagger, 70, began dating Scott in 2001, notes People.com.
On Monday night, Jagger's publicist put out a statement squelching a story that the singer and Scott had split.
"The story in the New York Post re a split between Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott is 100% untrue," said Jagger rep Victoria Scarfone. "There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick."
The Stones are due to perform in Sydney, Melbourne and Macedon later this month before playing two dates in Brisbane and Auckland, New Zealand, in April. The On Fire tour is then scheduled to move to Europe in June, with concerts planned for the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Belgium.
Meanwhile, AP and British sites report that Scott's fashion business seemed to be struggling. Accounts filed by her company, LS Fashion Ltd. in London, show liabilities that exceeded assets by $5.9 million, as of Dec. 31, 2012.
