AKIN CRITICIZES FOXX FOR CALLING PRESIDENT OBAMA ‘OUR LORD AND SAVIOR’
Republican Missouri Congressman Todd Akin distributed a fundraising email Thursday with a video clip of Jamie Foxx speaking at the Soul Train Music Awards earlier this month. Foxx urged the audience to “give an honor to God, and our lord and savior Barack Obama.” Akin called Foxx’s comment an “appalling” example of how “Christian values are being mocked.” For Christians, the titles “lord” and “savior” typically are reserved for Jesus.
