LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The director of "Top Gun" is dead. Authorities are investigating the death of Tony Scott as a suicide. L-A police say several people called 911 to report someone had jumped off a bridge in the port area yesterday afternoon. The Los Angeles Times reports investigators have found a suicide note. Scott was 68. Scott's movie credits include "Top Gun," "Days of Thunder" and "Beverly Hills Cop II. Fellow director Ron Howard Tweets -- "tragic day."
