JASON KIDD: COMES TO KNICKS, GETS INTO TROUBLE

UNDATED (AP) -- What started what should have been a feel-good story for the New York Knicks has turned out to be a feel not-so-good story. The team signed Jason Kidd to over the weekend -- with the idea that he would mentor Jeremy Lin as a point guard. But since then, Kidd has been arrested on a drunken-driving charge. The bust came within hours of the Knicks agreeing to a trade for another point guard Raymond Felton. And that makes it even more likely that Lin -- a surprise story from last season -- will continue his career in Houston. The Rockets have signed him to an offer sheet that is so expensive that it's unlikely the Knicks will match it. Meanwhile, Kidd has been arraigned on a misdemeanor DUI charge and released without bail. The Knicks have no immediate comment on the arrest. It's unclear when Kidd's next court date would be.
