LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Tony Orlando says, "Only God is responsible for making more stars than Dick Clark." Smokey Robinson says Clark was instrumental to his career. Janet Jackson says Clark "changed the face of musical television." The Jonas Brothers say Clark will continue to be an inspiration. Connie Francis says she would have abandoned her career without Clark. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas says they will carry on Clark's legacy every New Year's Eve. Ryan Seacrest said at the beginning of "American Idol" that show would not exist without Clark. Ann Wilson of Heart says in the 1960s, the catch-phrase was "Never trust anyone over 30," but Clark "was trustworthy all the way home." Clark died yesterday at the age of 82.
