A Mercer Island home built with exotic woods from around the world and turned into a tropical paradise complete with a grotto can be yours for just a shade under $10 million.
The home was handcrafted over 16 years using rare woods from South Africa, the Congo and Costa Rica, according to realtor Aaron J. Rosen. The woods can no longer be imported into the U.S., so they are considered priceless.
The 8,100 square foot home sits on just over five acres. One master bedroom isn’t enough, so this home has three.
The home includes an outdoor pond and gardens throughout the grounds. There is also a handcrafted, wooden spiral staircase.
Inside, the tropical pool room includes a non-chlorinated pool, waterfall, hot tub, hidden grotto, tropical plants and fruits including bananas and lemons.
