Highway 287 in Ennis was back open Wednesday afternoon after an 18-wheeler crash that scattered hundreds of burnt pumpkins. Firefighters and TxDOT crews spent several hours cleaning up the mess. Authorities say the driver lost control and crashed into the guardrail before 7 a.m. He wasn't hurt, but the truck caught fire and the fire spread into the trailer.
