MARYSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11)- Cleanup efforts in Marysville, Ind. got some help Wednesday from residents at the healing place in Louisville.
More than 100 residents and staff members were in tornado devastated areas of Marysville Wednesday to help with the cleanup efforts.
Marysville was devastated by the EF-4 tornado March 2.
Healing Place officials said residents in the men's program came to them immediately, asking what they could do.
"Almost immediately after the storm, the men started asking 'what can we do to help?' I really believe that part of it was the fact that a lot of our men have been lost, they've been homeless and confused and I think they related to what the people up here were going through in some way, in some small way," Karyn Hascal from The Healing Place said.
The tornado devastated areas in Kentucky and southern Indiana have been declared federal disaster areas.
FEMA is available to help.
