Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Some things haven't changed.

Birdie is still sewing away in her sunroom, but now she’s about halfway finished with that beautiful cathedral window quilt she was working on.

She has plenty more material and supplies now to make even more quilts for children with cancer, piles, in fact, thanks to viewers who saw Birdie's story and wanted to help.

Karen Hall of Campbellsville sells fabrics and sent Birdie plenty of her extras. Birdie has already started a quilt with some of that fabric.

Then there's Mona Murphy of Louisville who isn't able to quilt anymore but wanted Birdie to have her supplies.

Another thread to Brdie's beautiful story is old friends of hers who saw her on TV wanting to rekindle their friendship.

Barbara Watts and Birdie have a friendship that dated back to Central High School. Another friend, Beatrice, is in from California.

One good deed by Birdie is leading to many others, a gift and a story worth sharing.
