LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A twenty thousand dollar donation from AT&T is helping fund a local program for young people.
It's called Project Ready and it prepares middle and high school students for college and life beyond. Located inside the urban league in west Louisville, Cassandra Webb says Project Ready is preparing young people for a brighter future.
Alexis Robinson, a senior at Butler High School, has been preparing for the ACT. Alexis’ mother says Project Ready has helped her shy daughter come out of her shell, develop a plan and help her become focused.
Since 2009, Project Ready has helped about 450 young people with academics, career exploration and goal planning.
Project Ready is a free program offered at Louisville’s urban league, again thanks to donations like the 20-thousand dollars from AT&T. There is a parent orientation coming up in August. If you want more information the number to call is 502-566-3383.
