A moderate La Nina is the main influence again this winter. The Climate Prediction Center is calling for a warm and potentially wet winter for the Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Deep South. The map below shows the higher chances of above normal temperatures. Warm over the central and southeast, cold northwest.

You put these together and you could assume a warm and wet winter for us, cold and snowy to the northwest. But, keep in mind we often have trouble with the forecast past just a few days, let alone an entire winter. Let's see what happens!
