The cloud in this picture is a shelf cloud, and an indication of strong winds gusting out ahead of the parent thunderstorm complex. Winds 45-55 mph were associated with this storm. This was taken by Kathy Pile, from Harned, Kentucky in Breckinridge County off Highway 60.
The next picture showshow low the clouds were underneath the thunderstorms, just above rooftops. Thankfully, none of the storms were tornadic, but still looking a bit scary!
