Typical summer pop-up showers and storms are expected Saturday, mainly during the afternoon and early evening. But, a higher or more organized chance of scattered showers and storms arrives Sunday with a cold front. The Storm Prediction Center has put most of Kentuckiana under a Slight Risk of severe storms. The highest threat Sunday may end up around the Ohio River and areas south. The main threats out of these storms will be damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and hail.
Obviously, we need all the rain we can get, and many areas could see over an inch by late Sunday. The rainfall total map through Sunday is below. Cooler and drier air will arrive behind the front early next week with highs down to the mid-upper 80s!
