Let's start of with the good news! We've got a warming trend this week. After several cold weeks, 60s will return for the first time since mid-December. 50s are back Tuesday and Wednesday, then expect lower 60s Thursday through Saturday. A January thaw! The first map below shows the warm air in place over the southeastern half of the country.
On the other hand, lots of rain chances are on the way with the warm-up. Thursday begins the wet pattern with showers and storms. Hopefully a little break in the messy weather Friday, before more rain arrives this weekend. The map below shows the 7-day total rainfall amounts, with inches adding up by next Monday. Putting away the coats, and grabbing the rain gear Thursday!
