We're getting you prepared for some icy spots this evening for parts of the WHAS11 viewing area.  If you're not going to be heading out this evening, or live south of the Louisville Metro area then you don't have to worry about much. Look at the maps below for more information.  A Winter Weather Advisory in effect for areas along and north of I-64 from 6pm until 1am, and the advisory continues a bit longer for areas farther north and east.

Warm air will spread over the top of the cold air in place, and this will set up rain mixing with pockets of freezing rain and sleet.  This will only occur for about a 6-8 hour time period for most locations, as temperatures will be rising and going well above freezing after midnight.  By Friday morning's commute roads will be just damp or wet.  The main impact will be on elevated surfaces, like bridges and overpasses.

Drying out Friday afternoon with temperatures back to the 50s!
