It was the coldest morning so far this season in Louisville, with a low of 34 degrees. Previously, we hit 35 degrees on October 11th. With temperatures near and below freezing this morning, this effectively ends the 2012 growing season. You won't see frost advisories or freeze warnings again until next spring.
From our local National Weather Service in Louisville,
"DUE TO THE END OF THE GROWING SEASON...THE 2012 FALL FROST/FREEZE
PROGRAM FOR SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY HAS EFFECTIVELY
ENDED. THE FROST/FREEZE PROGRAM WILL RESUME IN SPRING 2013.
THANKS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT AND
SURROUNDING WEATHER SERVICE OFFICES FOR COORDINATION AND
CONFIRMATION OF THE END THE GROWING SEASON."
