We haven’t had much of a winter season so far. We finally had our first measurable snowfall on January 9th and 10th with 1” of snow. But, on average January has been warmer than average. We still have 7 more days left in the month, and it looks like the next 5 out of the 7 days will be above average.

On January 6th we even climbed up to 64 degrees! The average high for the month is 43. So far, our average is at 47.5 degrees, almost 5 degrees above average! The average low for the month is 26.8 degrees. We are also above average for the low coming in at 28.6 degrees.

Rainfall for the month has been around average with 2.36” so far. After today and tomorrow, we will probably jump above average with 1 to 2 inches expected. The average amount of snow for this time should be at 2.8.” We are currently an inch under the average with 1.8” for the month.

So how does it look for February? The Climate Prediction Center put out their monthly outlook for February. As you can see from the maps, we are looking at a warmer and wetter than average month. Not looking good for all those snow lovers!
