After a record hot June, our July in on pace for a top 10!  A persistent ridge in the jetstream is responsible for our heat waves, but when will it end?  Well, the latest forecasts from the Climate Prediction Center have our area with above average chances of above normal temperatures for the few months!

Let's start with the 6-10 day outlook.  Notice the orange colors around the Ohio Valley, which indicate above average temperatures likely.  Really the eastern third of the US is likely to experience the hot weather!

The next image is the one month outlook, see something similar?  Much of the country still orange!

The next image is the 3 month outlook!  Get ready for some high cooling bills!

The good news so far is that even with the hot temperatures, we have had some rain chances, which has kept us from a drought.  We'll have right around average chances of precipitation over the next three months.  Let's hope we can stay green!

Here's a look at our extended forecast... hot, hot, hot, and humid!
