The first map below shows my forecast map from yesterday, showing 1-2" amounts around Louisville and to the south, with 2-4" amounts north and east.

The last map shows the actual amounts of snow from snow reports we have recieved.  Metro Louisville picked up 1" or less, with similar amounts southwest.  1-3" snow amounts have been reported from areas to the north and east, as reflected in the original forecast map.

Highest snowfall totals forecasted and reported were as expected up around Cincinnati and Indianapolis with 3-6" amounts.

One of the reasons for these lighter amounts is explained from my blog update from yesterday,

" I think this model is more in line with reality, and some of the melting that will occur with above freezing temperatures during part of this winter weather event."

I'll take within an inch for any snow system crossing the Ohio Valley.  But, these little systems are tricky, and I for one, am ready for spring...make that summer!
