A quiet start to the day will turn stormy this afternoon and evening with an approaching cold front. For the first part of the day, we should see sunshine with temperatures climbing near 80 degrees! These much warmer than average temperatures will help to fuel strong to severe thunderstorms later on in the day. The main threats with any storm will be large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.
Below is the tornado threat for this afternoon and evening. The highest tornado risk will be north and east of Lousiville. This is a low chance, but we will have to keep our eye out on several storms later on today.
