Expect strong to severe storms across the area, mainly from 4-10 pm.  Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats.  But, these storms will also be packing very heavy rain and frequent lightning.  Localized flooding possible.  We can never rule out an isolated tornado, but it's not likely.

It's going to be hot and humid again today with a high of 90, and the heat index in the mid 90s.  So, the atmosphere will be charged up and ready to go as a strong disturbance rolls through Kentuckiana late this afternoon and evening.

Notice below, our Futurecast maps modeling out our storms chances today.  This is used as guidance and won't be exactly what happens, but gives us a good general idea of the timing of these storms.  The strongest storms could be near Metro Louisville between 6-8pm.  After 10 pm, the storms will likely be losing their strength and heading southeast.
