 Chance for Weekend Snow

Here's the setup...  We will be in a zonal flow (meaning the Jet Stream is moving west to east without any big trofs or ridges) through the weekend.  This will allow several weak disturbances to move quickly through the area.  Each one will be capable of producing some snow.

Timing the exact arrival of these weak systems is very difficult, just keep in mind that we will have several chances of snow this weekend.

The first disturbance arrives early Saturday morning with light accumulating snow for everyone.  Right now, the heaviest snow looks to be over our southern KY counties.  But, this is not going to be a BIG snow maker.

The system and the snow is pushing east by 9am Saturday.

How Much?

It's what I like to call "Friendly" snow...  Between 1/2 to 1.5".  But, that is still enough to make the road very slick Saturday morning, so if you're heading out early please drive carefully!

Another one clips our northern counties Saturday evening and could give them a quick half an inch.

Yep, another chance for some light snow Sunday morning.  This little guy could produce1/2 to 1" in areas.

A few leftover flurries or snow showers are possible Sunday afternoon.

Final Thoughts...

While I'm not looking for any BIG snow maker this weekend, we do have several chances of light accumulating snow.  I think we could end up getting between 1 to 2.5" total for Saturday and Sunday combined.
