Tropical Storm Karen is the 12th named storm of the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Current sustained winds are around 65 mph. The forecast calls for Karen to become a Category 1 hurricane by tomorrow night. The storm could make landfall along the Gulf Coast in Western Florida early Saturday. At this time it looks like Karen will then spread heavy rain and winds through the Southeastern US, staying to our southeast with minimal impacts locally. A cold front will be moving through our area Sunday bringing scattered showers and storms - not relatd to Karen.
