Plentiful rainfall will be possible during this coming Friday through Monday time frame. Right now, it appears Saturday and Sunday will be the wettest. The area of low pressure (remnant of Isaac) will be just to our west Friday into Saturday, but close enough for some scattered showers and thunderstorms. Then, the low could travel closest to us (but perhaps centered just north) late Saturday into Sunday, before weakening and moving east Monday (Labor Day). Look at all the rainfall that is in the forecast to fall over a large drought-stricken area. Below is the precipiatiton forecast from the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center. Notice the heaviest rains through early Sunday are just west and to the north, but still much of Kentuckiana is shown picking up well over an inch, with more rain in the forecast for Sunday.
