So, what does a bored meteorologist do on a slow summer evening? I read the climatology "book"... I know, it sounds fun! But, I did find a couple of interesting tid bits I thought I would share.
Today's average temperature [ (high + low)/2 = Avg temp ] of 73 makes the 12th day in a row with a below average temperature. This is the longest below average stretch since late February through early March, 2010.
Also, if we make it through the end of August without a tornado, it will be the 1st meteorological summer (June, July & August) with no tornadoes in Kentuckian since 2007. That year we went from April, 4th to October, 17th without a single tornado! Our last tornado this year was on May 1st when a small EF0 struck Trimble County.
