Monday night-early Tuesday morning, Earth and Jupiter converge for their closet encounter since 1963.  Jupiter will be 368 million miles from Earth.  The giant planet will soar overhead at midnight, outshining everything except the Moon itself.  Astronomers call this "Jupiter's night of opposition."

This planetary treat will be visible through September, 23 and the next time Jupiter will be this close to Earth is 2022.  For more information on Jupiter...  Click Here
