Hottest July and a huge drought!

Our average temperature (highs and lows) for July was 84.5 degrees, just beating the old record of 84.2 degrees in 1901.  Let's hope this August is not the hottest on record!

While we did have rainfall now and then, much of that rain quickly evaporated and drought conditions developed.  The drought is not just around our region, but the majority of the United States.  Look at the map below, where you see orange and reds, that's moderate-severe/extreme drought conditions. So, even though it may seem like you're getting some decent rain, it's just not enough.
