Fall is already here and that means the chilly temperatures are right around the corner. Next month is typically the time of the year we see our first frost and freeze of the season.
The first map below shows the average of the first 36 degree temperature. The first areas to experience the first frost of the season are Orange, Crawford, parts of Harrison, Meade, Breckinridge, Henry & Shelby counties (September 25-October 1). Very soon! The latest area to see frost will be around the metro area (October 15-20).
The last map shows the average first 32 degree temperature. The first areas to get hit with freezing temperatures are the same as the first frost. The average dates are October 5-10. The latest is still around the metro around October 25-30.
Always keep an eye out on the weather this time of the year if you have plants outside as the first frost/freeze of the season could happen earlier and even later.
