The Drought Monitor released the latest drought status map and we're seeing darker reds and oranges around Kentuckiana, which simply means we're going deeper into our drought. Of course, you don't need a map to tell you our drought is getting worse, you can see your dry yard, the crops drying out, and the low ponds and creeks. We're hoping for 1-3" of rainfall over the next several days. However, Kentucky looks to get the lion's share of the rain, with lighter amounts north of the river. All of Kentuckiana is either under a Moderate or Severe drought, with Extreme drought conditions to the west and north. Burn bans continue for all our Indiana counties and many counties in Kentucky.
