Yes, we have another winter storm heading our way, however, unlike last week we won't have all the cold air in place when the storm arrives early Friday morning. Right now I expect it to start off with a rain/snow mix in the early morning hours, then change over to all rain. As a matter of fact Friday looks to be cool and wet. By Friday evening at 7pm the snow line (540 thickness line) is well north of us.
Friday Evening MSLP 1000-500mb Thickness
The cold air arrives overnight Friday into Saturday morning and it appears that we will be in some wrap around moisture producing light snow. Accumulations... around 1-2" at best.
Saturday Morning MSLP 1000-500mb Thickness
Modified Arctic air races into the region on Sunday, setting the stage for the next winter storm Monday evening-Tuesday morning. I think we have a much better chance for accumulating snow then. My best guess now... 2-3", but that is still a week away and a lot could happen between now and then.
