The largest hail stone ever recorded fell from the sky in Aurora, Nebraska in 2003, measuring in with a 7" diameter and a 18.75" circumference.
This may now be the second biggest hail stone ever.
This fell out of a cloud last Friday, July 23rd, 2010...


This time it happened in Vivian, South Dakota.
It looks like this hail sets a new record at just over 7", with a record weight just under 2lbs. Could you imagine that dropping on your car or rooftop, let's just not.
